a month agoI’ve seen the odd review from people canning this place, no idea why though I suspect it’s because there was no red carpet for their platinum status. From the minute I walked in, the staff were outstanding, no fuss early check in and great convo. The rooms are a little dated but fantastic. Large, well equipped. Location is A1. Easy walk to city, MCG etc, easy access to Trams and trains

3 months agoLocation: #48 Tram is two stops to/from Spring St x Collins St. The tram stop is a 150 meter walk from the hotel. Kitchen/Bar: Only open for breakfast, the bar is not open in the afternoon which is a shame with so many people staying for shows, footy etc. I would have thought this to be a missed opportunity. Rooms: The rooms are nicely presented, quiet, windows can open. If you have a child staying make sure you have a small power box in your room so you can turn off/isolate the oven & cooktop. The self contained aspect with a larger-small sized fridge with mini freezer was helpful. Bonus: We had a side-view of the city that gives a warm Melbourne feel. Issue1: The bath is very dangerous after one shower as it’s slippery even when holding onto the wall handle, this needs to be looked into ASAP as it’s a OHS issue. Issue2: The towels were past replacement, heavily marked, they were washed but stained, not a great look. Bonus: Not that we needed this trip but a washing machine with dryer could be very helpful to help travel light or longer for traveler’s. Staff: Welcoming, helpful, obliging and polite.
