I had a pleasant stay at Mantra MacArthur. The staff were kind and the hotel had a good location, close to tram. The kitchen also served really delicious coffee. Check in and check out was too easy. Car park was accessible. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

The location is good. The reception staff are professional and pleasant to deal with. The bathroom in the room we stayed in wasn't cleaned properly. My little girl found a tablet of some description on the floor. The bed was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was OK.

If it wasn't for the reception staff, I would be giving a lower score. I requested to be moved rooms as the room I was given had dust everywhere, surfaces, carpet around edges, and hair on the bedhead. The second room I was moved to was just as bad. Both bathrooms were not sufficiently clean and behind the sink had grime and hair. I was finally moved to a bigger room. However, this was the same. Dust, bathroom not cleaned properly, Kettle had grime and hand prints on it. After the 3rd attempt, I requested a refund and left. It was not great given it was around 9 pm when I arrived and was exhausted from travel. If the hotel improves (a lot) in the cleanliness, it could be a good hotel, good staff, good location but horrible cleaning.

I was down in Canberra for a basketball tournament and needed a cheap couple nights accommodation, i found this place and the price was very reasonable. Upon arrival the issues began to unfold. The location is not on the main road nor the road parallel to it but a small lane that only had 2 setdown spots. I was asked if i would like my room made up each morning i agreed yet no one showed up. Parking garage was full and had to park on the street a good 800-900 metre walk. The room was neat and tidy yet shower leaked. The bar fridge was so loud it ticked and creaked all night, TV is outdated and only offered free to air channels. Bedside lamps had different temperature globes and made the ambient lighting look terrible. Forgot to mention reception is inconveniently located on level 1 which is a completely abnormal experience altogether, however air condition was quite and worked very well with no strange smells. Even though its a small stroll to the main CBD there are no restaurants close by or a convenience store to grab a drink or any necessities.

The tv has no option for a steaming service. Unable to put own on as well. The room was very clean and tidy. The reception assistants were amazing. So thoughtful and welcoming. Great onsite parking!!
