Mantra Hervey Bay

Lovely location but the rooms are very small. No space for suitcases and kitchenette described in brochures only consisted of kettle and tea/coffee sachets. No cutlery or plates or toaster. Internet was almost non existent meaning small smart TV was a waste of time. After spending a week on the Sunshine Coast this place was not value for the tariff charged.

Hi . I don't think that the Mantra is a bad place to stay. Quite the opposite, it's a nice place in a lovely location. We just thought that the place needs an update and spruce up . For example the light cover in our bathroom had a small crack in the edge, rather than replacing it, someone had put some packing tape over it B.T.W. the staff were wonderfull and very courteous. Small things.

The staff were fantastic really friendly and service was excellent, we had a lovely welcome hamper left in our upgraded suite and a bottle of bubbles.The room was clean and tidy a little dated but a great layout and the view off our balcony was straight up the Marina harbour and across to Fraser Island (K’gari). It was perfect to sit out and enjoy the view . The pool was a decent size and was lovely to swim in as it is heated during winter. The hotel is situated water front on the Hervey Bay Marina. Beds were comfortable and bathroom is a decent size with a kitchenette and fridge , lounge ,aircon , dining table and it’s so quiet at night .

My husband and I and friends visited Hervey Bay for whale watching and stayed 3 nights at Mantra Hervey Bay in room 301 in August 2024. The room was quite large and comfortable however there were a few matters that we fell need to be considered by would be guests. It concerned us that due to poor design or management that the bedroom door when opened swings back into the mirrored door of the wardrobe and it is only a matter of time due to no fault of the guest that the mirrored door will be smashed. Who pays? Considering that a $200 security deposit was demanded on check in then quite possibly this will be held by the hotel without the chance of the occupant to defend their position. The second issue is that the room has a spa bath/shower with a high edge to step over which is most unsuitable for visitors who may be mobility impaired plus the shampoo and soap dispensers are attached so high that they are impractical for anyone under 5"6" tall. On pointing this out at check out my husband was told that we should have requested a walk in shower when booking. Not a very customer friendly response. Also the fact that the house wine for sale from reception and sold for $26 is a bottle of Gossips is surely a bit low class for a hotel of the Mantra standing. Regardless of the above the whale watching experience far exceeded our expectations.

Very nice room with a gorgeous view. A little lacking on service. Self contained though so it was all good. Very comfortable bed. Parking onsite - not allocated per room- but always found one.
