Important Update: Changes to NDIS STA/Respite Provision and Habitability’s Service Model
Dear participants, & representatives,
We are reaching out to inform you of significant changes within the NDIS STA/Respite provision that have affected our ability to deliver and facilitate services – and therefore will affect your plans for future programs with Habitability.
Due to these changes and amendments – within the legislation that came into effect on October 3rd, 2024, Habitability’s STA model (in its current form) is no longer viable, as it fits outside of the NDIA’s scope of practice, for STA/Respite.
Among the new changes it appears that 1:1 support may no longer be eligible (for funding), & in addition to this, the NDIA has moved back to group centre/community-based accommodation options, which completely discounts Habitability’s current accommodation choices within our portfolio.
Therefore, it is with great sadness, that we have no option but to suspend services (in our current format) with immediate effective.
Please be assured that it is our intention to work towards a new Habitability model that complies with the NDIA’s new vision for STA/Respite.
We acknowledge the deep disappointment for our clients this news may bring, as we believe our model delivered sustainable capacity building & supportive outcomes for NDIS participants, which were measurable & sustainable, – compared to the NDIA’s new model.
