Supported Independent Living (SIL)

SIL is the name of one of the NDIS funding categories and is approved for people who need 24/7 support while living in a shared home or independently primarily to cover the cost of the support staff in the house and ensure people with disability live as independently as possible.

As SIL provider- Habitability will use the SIL funding (depending on the level of support) to provide quality support workers to help with and/or supervision of daily tasks to develop the skills of participants to live as independently as possible and can be used at a place of their choice which can be shared or individual arrangement including:

• Your own house where you live
• Privately rented property
• Your own property
• Shared or group homes
• Special Disability Accommodation
• Other Public Housing such as Department of housing and other similar services
