Staff were lovely, and the location is great for Darling Harbour precinct and ICC. The rooms are a bit outdated, but it’s an older hotel with charm in its own right. If you’re after lavish and lush, this is less “that”, but the pros outweigh the cons for a short stay. Currently construction going on close by, so not the quietest either. Great pool and sauna!

Our stay at Oaks Goldsbrough was average for a number of reasons. 1. Quality of facilities - despite boasting a 4-star rating, overall the facilities (rooms) are run down and don't really reflect the bright, modern pictures on their website. The carpet hadn't been laid properly in places and it was clear our apartment (508) hadn't had a deep clean in months (heavy dust was on the air-conditioning intake and vents). The pool area was probably the highlight for us, albeit a bit aged (the photos make it appear more modern!). We were also required to take out our rubbish to the shared bin area - something I wouldn't expect from a "4-star" accommodation. To be clear, we stayed at an airbnb in Melbourne earlier in the trip and were quite happy to do this as it was expected). 2. Quality of Service - the desk staff were at times quite abrupt (particularly when my wife asked for some additional towels after our family had used the pool facilities - our experience with equivalent accommodation is that there are towels near the pool area to use). 3. Other items - the oaks team should be honest in their description that these are spacious two story apartments (not split level). Our 5 and 7 year old were able to navigate the many stairs okay, but wouldn't recommend for families with younger children (there was no safety gate). - the location is great. A skip to Darling Harbour and there are many supermarkets and other amenities nearby! We wouldn't stay here again, unfortunately.

Oaks Sydney Goldsbrough is in a great location, however they have inflated prices for what they offer. The apartments are definitely in need of maintenance, plus there are some safety issues. If you are travelling by the Light Train, it is best to ask directions from Reception, as it is certainly not easy to find. Parking is $50 a day in the Secure Car Park. There are a number of stairs to navigate in the apartment, so please take note of this. Bedrooms are either upstairs or downstairs. The kitchen is a bonus if you do not want to eat out all the time. We found the staff to be quite obliging.

Overall, this place is nice if you need a good location that’s close to ICC, transport and surrounding food venues. The staff are very professional and although can seem a little short and less personal, are actually very lovely. It is an old building, so some rooms do need some TLC, but overall it’s OK. Gym is a little old, but the massive pool and sauna makes up for it. The apartments are very spacious too, so the pros do outweigh the cons.

This is not a 4 star hotel. This is 3 star at best. Everything is very dated. During the week the building site next door starts jack hammering at 7am. The shower didn’t drain either, so was basically useless. Plus the pool was broken and not available. The parking is also terrible. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere.
