Review of The Oaks Hotel: My recent stay at The Oaks Hotel left me deeply disappointed with the level of service provided. Despite the promising start to my stay, with comfortable accommodation and decent amenities, my overall experience was marred by a frustrating lack of follow-through from the hotel staff. My dissatisfaction stemmed from a simple request I made after checking out. Realizing I had left behind a beloved pillow, I promptly called The Oaks Hotel within a couple of hours of my departure to notify them of my oversight. The receptionist assured me that they would look into the matter and get back to me as soon as possible. However, days went by without any communication from the hotel. Two weeks later, I found myself in the vicinity of The Oaks Hotel and decided to give them another call to inquire about my missing item. Once again, I was met with promises of a callback. Unfortunately, history repeated itself, and no such call materialized the following day. Growing increasingly frustrated, I decided to take matters into my own hands and visited The Oaks Hotel personally. Despite my prior calls and assurances from the staff, retrieving my pillow turned out to be an arduous task. The receptionist summoned housekeeping, only to find that my pillow was nowhere to be found. This lackadaisical attitude towards customer service is simply unacceptable. While the initial mishap of leaving behind an item is regrettable, the failure of the hotel staff to adequately address my concerns and follow up on their promises has left a lasting negative impression. As a frequent traveller who values reliable service, I cannot in good conscience recommend The Oaks Hotel to others.

Both rooms we booked had a dirty waste pipe stench. Shower over the bath was dangerous. Security was non existent. Didn’t need to swipe card to access foyer or lifts or fire stairs - meaning anyone could come in or out. Key cards needed to be reloaded on the daily to access rooms! Would not recommend!

This is in a great spot if you are seeing anything at any of the main theatres in Melbourne! The staff were great and very accomodating when there was a slight issue with our booking through an external company. There is an IGA next door that is reasonably priced and has a good selection of alcohol. The one bedroom apartment is very spacious and had all required for a stay. Two complaints: The couch was almost unbearable to sit on so we made use of the table with two chairs. THE SHOWER. It was quite an effort to get into as the bath was quite high and it was not hand held. May want to be wary of this if you are frail and elderly, disabled or struggle as short person like myself. On the upside again… they have a very secure room to leave your bags in for the day if your flight isn’t until late free of charge :)

Stayed here once before and was really impressed. But the most recent time not so much one of the towels had blood on it bed sheet had a big burn in it. And the bedroom TV only got 3 channels and on top of that the shower wouldn't drain. When I complained was told there was no rooms to move to. but while I was waiting he upgraded the guy in front of me just because he asked. You would think spend over $1000 for 5 night they would be able to sort something out but no.

Service was absolutely lovely, kind and caring about their guests. We stayed for 2 nights for the Taylor Swift concert and they left friendship bracelets kits in the room for the 2 girls and a bottle of wine for mum. They upgraded us to a much bigger room with a great view of the MCG, great location and exceptional service
