After experiencing Victoria's best sights and scenes for a week we got to experience Victoria's WORST!! It all started with our check-in, seeing another family that had requested a room with a bassinet that had not been delivered, lies from the mouths of the clerks behind the desk saying they are getting the item right now but when the family headed to the room they quickly phoned the housekeeping staff to get the babies bassinet. We booked the rooftop apartment, took the elevator to the very top then walked up 1 set of stairs to the 19th floor, oh what a mistake this was, the filth in the hallways to the room were a sign of things to come. Upon entering the room and having s looking around you could help but notice the lack of bathroom, where was it? Wait it's not this room the size of a shoe box. Yep it was, poorly cleaned, rusted support poles with paint flaking off around the wet areas directly next to the bed. What a joke, you'd expect a rooftop apartment to be better and at least have a bath ROOM that resembles a ****"""* room. You get a closet with a toilet, basin and shower jammed in there. You walk out onto your balcony, there's not much to see out here, nothing nice just a bunch of wood and barely a seat. You walk back inside and now you're looking for the bad things in this room because of how terrible it is. You find dust along the edges of walls, behind curtains, mould in the aircon. That's almost not the worst part, the god awful noise of the room situated next to the top of the elevator mechanism. You just here and feel a constant whining and whirring of the elevator all day and night. Just for that reason DO NOT ever ever ever stay in a rooftop room here, even if it was the perfect room this sound is the most awful sound to experience in a room that should be better. We decided to go out and come back to the room later after booking an hotel room at another place a few blocks away and conveniently closer to public transportation for cheaper too. We proceed down stairs, made complaints about the mould and the absolute poor state of the room and demanded a refund which was actually given back in full, this we are grateful for and we're appreciative. That was the end of our experience and will never try this place again.

First it’s the stains all over the bed. They were able to give us another room, which also didn’t differ much in terms of cleanliness as there were stains too. So basically they did not get new sheets, and got theirs from somewhere cheap. Maybe some other hotels threw them out? Then they said we did not have the housekeeping option when we booked, so if we wanted it we would have to pay more, and we were staying 4 nights. Oh so now housekeeping will incur extra charges? What’s next? Soon they will charge extras for toilet paper, water/electricity, bed too maybe? Why not give customers just the floor next time, and everything else will have extra charges? Get your head right on the idea of what a “hotel” means. Don’t be like those big corporations cutting corners trying to be smart, and try to cheat customers out of these basic hotel services. Disgusting. First and last time.

The price is very good for the room and service here. I booked no view room but they upgraded me to nice view room for free. I’m very happy with that. This hotel is close to Southern Cross station. It’s very convenient to travel from Melbourne Airport and around city. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, convenient stores nearby. IGA supermarket is just next door. 2 coffee shops inside the hotel, just next to reception dear, is open from 7AM. I had breakfast there.

Very small rooms and not clean at all no bathroom cabinets to rest hair-dryer or straitner no second bedside table layout was awful. Would not stay here again needs a good clean and a close look at the layout. Get rid of the fixed furniture for a more functional space.

We enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Oaks on Collins and we must say it was conveniently located in the heart of the CBD. The lady who checked us in was super friendly and accommodating, the studio was spacious and the city view was amazing. The bathroom was a little small, but the size of the studio made up for it! We would definitely stay here again, highly recommended.
