a week agoI really loved this place! The room was spacious, bright, and clean, with excellent kitchen facilities and a stunning view of beautiful buildings. My only suggestion would be to add a lock to the toilet. While it was manageable to let my roommates know when it was occupied, having a lock would provide more privacy. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful. One day, I mentioned that the bins in our room were full, and they promptly gave us new plastic bags and took away the full ones. The location was convenient for me, as it was an easy walk to the nearest tram station.

2 weeks agoCentral to everything and the room was clean, with a comfy bed and great kitchen facilities (everything from an oven and stovetop to dishwasher and free coffee capsule machine). The reason I ranked it 3 stars is the bathroom is super tiny, the hotel has no airport shuttle service (acceptable) but we booked a wake up call (confirmed the room and wake up details) and reception just forgot! Lucky we had a backup alarm. I think crucial service like that matters more than a fancy kitchen.

a month agoMy sister and I recently stayed at Oaks on Collins during our visit to Melbourne, and it was a great experience for us as leisure travelers. The location couldn’t have been better with convenient access to trams that took us everywhere we wanted to go. We also enjoyed dining locally, taking advantage of the great restaurants in the area. The staff at Oaks on Collins were always welcoming and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. We chose a room facing Collins Street, and we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was—no noise at all, which was perfect after our busy days exploring the city. The room itself was spacious, bright, and had tall ceilings that added to the overall comfort. However, we did encounter a couple of issues during our stay. The bathroom’s glass door was quite heavy and difficult to move, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the shower floor was uneven, and we felt it could be a potential trip hazard—something to be cautious of. The lack of shelf space for toiletries was also a minor frustration. The coffee was terrible an unneccessary add on when there are so many great cafes nearby. Despite these small drawbacks, Oaks on Collins offered great value for the location, especially with its proximity to trams and the Crown Casino.

a month agoConveniently situated near Southern Cross Station and trams. Friendly reception staff. Luggage storage facilities. Kitchen was spotless and very useful. Bed was comfortable. Lovely view looking out to the old Rialto building, now the Intercontinental Hotel.

3 weeks agoThe apartment is fine, although the bathroom is not very comfortable (Barbie sink with no possibility to keep even a glass, dividers in glass, etc.). Good position. We had problems with houskeepers for towels... every single day of our stay (7 days) and a day they did not even pass to keep the apartment...
