Right at the foot of the Urangan pier, the beach, a walking track, downstairs restaurant and trivia on Sunday nights = amazing location. The rooms were really comfortable and well appointed with functional kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer too. Will definitely go back.

Great location and nice sized rooms. The noise from the pool area does travel up onto your balcony area and no room service options other than go next door to the cafe (which was excellent) or the restaurant for dinner which was also good. WiFi was so poor and they said they were upgrading and I saw other guests complain so heads up if you need to work remotely perhaps call ahead to see if this has been resolved.

Bed Bugs - check your sheets and don’t expect the hotel to care. We stayed here in mid June, in a two bedroom unit - king and twins. On the first morning of our stay we noticed black mould like splotches all over the pillows - it looked like mould but we think it was bed bug excrement. Further inspection in the bed found red smears (blood from bites and squashed bugs) , and live bugs crawling all through both twin beds. The housekeeping manager was called and observed the live bugs crawling in the bed. My kids had multiple bites on their hands, feet and waist. The hotel moved us to another room and as far as they were concerned that was enough. We spent the next two days washing and rewashing all our clothes, anything we couldn’t wash that came into contact with that room went into black bags which were in the sun on our balcony (creating a lovely view) to kill any bugs that may have spread from the bed to the carpet. We just did not know how far the bugs had spread. Bed bugs are very pervasive and hard to kill, their bites are very itchy and the bed was disgusting. We were stressed out the whole holiday - it completely ruined our experience. After three days of not hearing from the hotel manager, on the morning we were leaving i had to go and find the manager as she wasn’t on duty at the time we reported the issue and she didn’t bother to contact us during the week. She expressed some sympathy but nothing has been done to make up for the experience. They just did not care. I still feel physically sick that my kids lay their heads in these disgusting pillows all night and the itchy bites from the bugs have lasted for weeks. In retrospect I should have checked the beds before putting my kids to bed but silly me trusted that a resort of this standard would have clean and hygienic sheets and bedding. The ensuite bathroom around the spa in both units we stayed in were tired, dated, smelt mildewy with mould in the seals. Hervey Bay is beautiful but I would not recommend this hotel.

First time staying at the Oaks. We loved it so much, this will be our new getaway place. I work in a resort that cost a heck of a lot more than the Oaks charge, but I was wowed the minute we walked in. Checkin experience was easy and the lady was lovely and helpful. 180° views from the walkways, on the way to our room. The kitchen was modern, the Asian inspired sliding bedroom doors, the extra little study room for our luggage, all the little finishing touches, the beautiful outdoor setting on the patio looking out over the pool and a beautiful view of the water. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in while being away from home. Loved that we could just walk downstairs for dinner, then breakfast in the morning. Thankyou. Will be back soon.

Spacious Rooms & Nice Pool, But Housekeeping Needs Improvement The rooms at Oaks Hervey Bay Resort and Spa were spacious and comfortable. The pool area was lovely, and the in-room dining service was convenient. However, I was disappointed with the lack of housekeeping service during my five-night stay. While I appreciate the potential cost savings associated with limited housekeeping, it wasn't ideal for a resort stay. Having to request fresh towels and toiletries, as well as manage bin liners and waste disposal, felt more like an Airbnb experience than a resort. A housekeeping service, even every 2-3 days, would have greatly enhanced the feeling of relaxation and convenience expected at a resort. Overall, the property itself has good qualities, but the housekeeping policy needs improvement to meet resort standards.
