3 weeks agoI am familiar with Oaks properties and felt this location did not meet Oaks standards. Staff was generally pleasant and the location was fair near the Botanic Garden and about four blocks from the center of the CBD. The room, and particularly the bathroom, could use some updating, serious deep cleaning and some of the furniture was worn. I had opted for a one bedroom suite and found all those suites are located in the rear of the hotel looking into other hotels and office buildings. My room had a nice balcony but I felt it was not usable due to the proximity to the other buildings. The worst issue for the property was the Internet. It was so slow I could not always download email and receiving documents and pictures was impossible. Speed was less than 3 mbps. I worked with their Internet provider and finally got speeds at about 10 mbps on occasion. If you have a desire to stream, it can not be done at this hotel. I will probably opt for a different hotel on my next rip to Brisbane.

3 months agoWe stayed 4 nights from 17 May 2024 in room 2201. We parked our car for one night for $35 on level two. The lift was easy up to our 2 bedroom room apartment 2201 has a great view down over the botanical gardens and river. All things worked and clean unit. Fridge light did not work but otherwise all great. Price fairly high however there was a 3 day weekend for the NRL Magic Round 3 matches on 3 consecutive days. Will stay again . MS Benalla Victoria

5 months agoFelt like a motel. I wasn't happy to stay for a short stay in my 4-5star hotels stay most in the past. As soon as I got up the elevor towards the room, which was 18th floor so strong smell of trash bin the corridor I think this hotel is operating with apartments +hotel so trash bin located in the public corridor like units Strong smell even inside the whole room even didn't like to stay for the couple of hours. Also amenities like sampoo and conditioner hard to squeeze out didn't come out easily and toilet flush button wasn't smooth. That's minus point also. I wouldn't stay here not worth of money that i spent and this is true honest review I hope the management team aware of some point issues and will improve in the future..

3 months agoUnless you carry a physical debit card on you (which I’m sorry but does anyone do that these days?!) they can not take a deposit and they will not even let you check in, they will cancel your booking on the spot and you will be left stranded with no accomodation. No communication sent prior advising that a physical card was needed. We had paid for accomodation in full already and had cards on our phones but that wasn’t enough. The girls at the front said they have this problem all the time. Time for management to do something about it! Absolutely appalling.
