    Similar experience to that of other reviewers: corridors and rooms are dank and smell disgusting. Staff are poorly trained and unresponsive. We booked a king size bed and got allocated a double bed. When we asked about the king size, they said they would "upgrade" us and open up an adjoining room, so we had two double beds (as if it's acceptable to think that my wife and I are going to sleep in different beds!) Our booking stated "limited housekeeping". On the second night, I called and asked for fresh towels - got told I could have them, but had to go down to reception to collect the towels ourselves. I asked about 'limited housekeeping' and got told it means 'no housekeeping'. One bedside lamp didn't work. No coffee making facility. Staff are unfriendly (don't acknowledge you, say hello on entry/exit). Hotel is overtly racist. There are worse hotels out there - but not by much.

    Travelled here for business, which my company booked for me. They booked me in a 1 bedroom story bridge view room which was on level 17 - Room 172. The room I stayed in was clean and very spacious. The previous bad reviews do not relate to me as I was very happy with the cleanliness, location, furniture, bed etc. They even allowed me to leave my suitcase before check in and after check out. The only issue I had was on my first night. I was just about to sleep around 10pm when I heard a slight knock on the door. I assumed it was for the next room over so ignored it, as I was also there alone so didn’t want to open for my own safety. Because if it was urgent reception would call my room, right? Wrong! The worker then proceeded to open my door so I got up and out of bed fast and said hello?? She had a last minute guest who had no pillows and unknown to me, was a second and locked bedroom. They put me in a 2 bedroom apartment but locked the second bedroom a 1 bedroom is what work paid for. What a huge BREACH IN PRIVACY. Under no circumstances should staff be opening apartment rooms without checking your room reservations and following protocols etc. I will put this further in writing to the hotel but that’s just wrong. I had no other issues other than this situation.

    Only two star for rooms because AC not installed in both bedrooms.... After my request they have moved us in other room... Hence in other rooms gas induction not working...

    Room was okay for the price. Bathroom is quite tired, good water pressure. Carpet looked quite dirty.. has partial river view. Lift was fast and efficient. Car park is $39 a day and VERY VERY small. Possibly the tightest carpark I’ve ever been in. It was almost impossible to turn to the next level without all my car sensor alarms go crazy.

    Carpets have conspicuous holes in them. Staff are not fully trained. Hotel is neglected and definitely years beyond a four star rating. There is a hideous smell on most landings before entering your unit. I would never book Oaks again. The company clearly cares only about profit. Zero “warmth” here. Book elsewhere. It’s absolutely not worth saving $50 for such a low downgrade.
