a week agoGood hotel, in a convenient spot. As with other reviewers, make sure to book a riverview room (unfortunately we did not). Oaks should disclose at time of booking that work will be done on the building. We would not have booked here if we had known that there would be this much noise from 7am.

4 months agoVery good location - the city center and the popular South Bank can be explored on foot. But only book the hotel if you can get an apartment at the front and towards the river. The view from the side rooms and the lower 10 floors is poor. The beds are the best thing about the apartment, the rest is standard therefore the rate seems me too high.

3 weeks agoAmazing views from our rooms - directly across from the Ferris wheel overlooking the Brisbane River, the 2 bedroom was spacious, both concierges duringthe day and night were accommodating - customer service is 5+ stars. Will definately come back again!

6 months agoDefinitely overpriced for what you receive. Nearly $3k for 3 nights and there were holes in the carpets, the place didn't feel very clean and the overall atmosphere from reception staff was off. The rooms look nothing like the photos online either. You also had to try your luck with the elevators - sometimes waiting up to 5 minutes for one to get you to your floor. I have never needed to place a review before but everyone that stayed with me agreed that we should warn anyone thinking about booking here. Don't do it.

5 months agoPaid close to $300 a night for a city view one bedroom as it was in a good location (there are other Oaks nearby but this was the only one with availability). They put me in a two bed and locked off one of the bedrooms. The room was a bit run down but otherwise it had a great shower and was spacious. Unfortunately, the balcony looked over a bank of massive aircon fans on the building behind that are incredibly loud (70 decibels). With the balcony door closed, the noise in the bedroom was an average 50 decibels all night long (I slept on the couch one night to avoid the nosie). When I raised it with the staff, they told me all the 06 numbered rooms have the same problem and there was nothing they could do because of availability. I did say if they were aware of the problem, they should really make that clear. They told me to book a different room type next time and I advised I would not stay there again. A lot of dust came out of the aircon ducts when I turned them on so I'm guessing they don't use this room unless they are pretty full. After 4 nights of practically no sleep, I'm happy to be home now. I think I was most disappointed as I have always thought Oaks were worth the extra money but next time, I'll book something else for half the price.
