a month agoDefinitely one of the best hotel along the river in this beautiful town. The buffet is delicious and comes with a very decent spread. Rooms are very clean and some comes with a balcony. It over looks the river and you are welcome with a sunrise every morning. The reception are very professional and keeps your visit a joyous event

3 weeks agoBooked a river side room, but could just well have booked a cheaper room on the other side as the room we had was on the 2nd floor with a view of the restaurant rooftop (Felt cheated of the lovely river views.) Reception was unattended on our arrival and had to wait 10mins for the staff member to return . The room was in need of a upgrade, a shower over the bath is a little out of date (like 1980's) The TV remote did not have a cover over the batteries and they kept falling out when it was picked up to change channels. There was no water in the fridge and the one of the bedside lights did not work After a long day travelling by car we decided to just eat at the restaurant, but when we got there we were asked if we had a booking and we explained we did not but we were guests at the Hotel. The Young lady made a big deal of ... she would have to check if she could fit us in..... mind you there was at least 5 or more tables that we could see that were not occupied when we arrived and were still not occupied when we finished eating and left. The only thing that saved us from giving a lower score was the beautiful waitress was most helpful and on leaving offered to book a table for breakfast overlooking the river. We then go for breakfast the next morning expecting to be seated with a river view and the room was closed off and was told by the waitress (not the same waitress we had book it for us) say it is a bit hot out there. We were made to feel we were not wanted to sit out there only to find within 5 mins of us being told it was too hot out there the doors were opened and a party of 3 were ushered out there. The floor was dirty near the buffet station and there were tables that had not been cleared the whole time we were there eating our breakfast. Had we not already paid for our breakfast at the restaurant we would have gone down the road a bit to the coffee club and sat outside with a river view. It is not somewhere we would stay when we are again in Rockhampton. We opted for a 2night stay at an apartment at Salt in Yeppoon on our return journey for a small amount more and we had spectacular ocean views!!!

3 months agoWe stayed at Mercure Rockhampton for a very sad family gathering. The reception staff could not have been more helpful, obliging and caring. The welcome was warm and the efficiency exceptional. Our room was extremely well appointed, very clean and comfortable. Thank you

5 months agoWould give 5 stars if they had more washers and dryers. Granted it’s not a high priority for most people but we sort of log jammed in our party for doing laundry. Otherwise it’s a great hotel with excellent facilities.
