a week agoAverage hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful however the hotel is disappointing. Breakfast is basic and opens at 7:30 (when they’re on time!). I’d prefer an earlier breakfast time. The gym is terrible. Very little equipment, no water fountain & air conditioning not working. The room I stayed in requires an updated tv and fridge and there was an ordinary smell coming from the laundry outside the room door. Rooms still have key access with a bulky tag, they need to update to swipe card access. And hotel floors need new carpet, a refresh would go a long way.

in the last weekFriendly staff who were generous enough to let us check in early. Room was nice, bed was comfortable and location very convenient. Will be staying here again.

a month agoGreat location. Pity about the service. Basically rude and unhelpful. No excuse for long lines at check in. No excuse for slow and cumbersome check in process. No excuse for rooms not being available (this seemed more like bloody mindedness than anything). Deeply unhelpful staff - they behaved like we were an invonvenient chore that was to be tolerated, maybe were interrupted something that they were doing. No effort to make us welcome. Snappy instructions around filling in the registration form. Plenty of people (like us) forced to sit around until the "official check in time" and then continue to sit waiting while the unhelpful check in people tried in vain to deal with the very long line that had developed. This hotel likely survives because of proximity to MCG and this means they can get away with zero care factor. Reading other reviews, rude and helpful staff seems to be a common theme. Mantra head office obviously don't care either or they would have done something about it. Stay there because it's convenient. But don't expect them to make any effort.

4 months agoI can not speak highly enough about the Mantra on Jolymont. This is the second time we have stayed. The staff are just so amazing. Nothing was a bother to them. We had a few requests and they sorted all of them out with a smile. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The location is great. A special thanks to Sonny who booked us a room away from the train tracks. We will definitely be back.

4 months agoKing sized lies — they advertise king sized beds, however they are actually double beds. When I spoke with the front desk they just said “the system says it’s a king sized bed”, they refuse to take any accountability or do anything about it except refer you back to Accor. The room was okay, but dated. The best thing about this place is its location, and they take advantage of their customers with that fact.
