Staff were brilliant, well looked after as an Accor Gold member with a bottle of wine. Not the flashiest hotel by any stretch but great for an itinerant stop if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Melbourne. Would be awesome on a race night!

Although I'm not a fan of the horse racing theme (The animal welfare aspects of it all very much bother me), This place was a lovely stay! The outside of the building needs a good pressure wash and makes it look like you are possibly walking into a sub par hotel but when you approach the steps and enter the building you realise it is far from sub par. The rooms have fun names (later we learnt they are horse names) and are very spacious and comfortable! Our room had a single bed and a king bed (two singles put together) but sadly, minus a star as the king bed provided a very unrestful sleep. The room had loads of storage, fun additions with entertaining, funny signage. A lounge, coffee, tea, kettel etc. The bathroom had a bathtub and separate shower and beautiful, vegan body wash, shampoo, conditioner etc. Reception staff were efficient and lovely. Before we decided it was time to retire to the room, we ventured to the bar/restaurant/gaming area for a cocktail and beer....this area is incredibly accessible from the hotel as the reception area joins the two locations. The restaurant etc was very large and beautifully presented and customer service was friendly and welcoming. We asked to take our drinks back to our room and were escorted by a lovely, friendly security guard to our rooms A great stay! Thank you

I booked a 3 bedroom apartment over the weekend to celebrate out friend 60th birthday. We are 10 ladies wearing pink and white outfit on purpose. When we got to the hotel, the lady who was assisted me when I checked in was very rude and very personal instead of welcoming us but first thing she said asking how much alcohol we have and if there’s any under 18 yr old in our group. After checked in we set up everything and decorated the room to surprise our friend then decided to eat down stair. After our dinner at their restaurant she saw us again and called me and asked bow many people are staying because I wrote down on the paper that we are 10 and she said we are not allowed to stay in one room etc and happy get us another room. I wrote down all the names because they asked for the guests names and I couldn’t lie. I also told in the email that we are 10 all ladies some will stay. According to how she treated us she was racist it’s because we are all asian she made us all feel unwelcome. We were willing to cancelled our booking that night pack up and go. She was not very nice and clearfrom the beginning what she could have done is to not let us in if she concern the big number because the bed its only hold for 6 people betore I proceed our booking. The purpose was to use the kitchen Asian love party, eating and stay awake all night, we are not even alcoholic we are all decent ladies. After all the drama the lovely manager solved the problem she was the best understanding to us she even provided two extra bed for the 8 girls who will stay. Then another drama in the morning we came down stairs to get some coffee, we found out from the waiter at the restaurant and this was 30 minutes before the kitchen close that we have free breakfast included, so I went to talk to the reception again why no one ever told us we have free breakfast when we checked in. The reception was telling me that’s what I said before this morning aren’t you staying for breakfast but we didn’t know if it’s free, we could have enjoyed our morning breaky more and not rushing. Anyway the hotel room was nice and clean but it’s too hot in the lounge room. The reception they need to improve their customer service it was pretty bad. Our first and last booking left with good and bad memories.

I stay with Mantra every time I come to Melbourne but this time my beautiful little sister was rushed to hospital and the doctors say she only has 48 hours to live. So naturally we wanted to change our accommodation closer to the hospital. Mantra staff refused our request to cancel. So we could be closer. If it was my error I wouldn't have an issue. Pauline Marquis my sister, she is all in our families hearts, just not in Mantra's cancelling process and policy. She has dementia and is in a coma and now we have to drive 45 minutes to see her and every minute matters when your sibling has hours to live. Very cruel and heartless staff. Maybe one day when all you loved one has only moments to share that you have people around that family is all you have don't stay at Mantra because when you pay up front Mantra doesn't care about you and your family. Absolutely horrible and uncaring staff. We come to Melbourne every 3 months to see family and didn't realise that family death or tragedy is not a valid reason to cancel. At least a kind word from the staff member like so sorry about your sister as I called from beside her bed as she draws her last breath and as I sit now writing this. The staff member said try going on line and tick the box accordingly and you might be able to cancel. I spent time trying to navigate Accor while I should spend the last moments with her. No luck. Now I spend time writing this getting ready to drive 45 minutes across Melbourne to jave a shower and 45 minutes to get back. I hope she is still alive on my return.

Staff are so so LOVELY!!! They're always so helpful and friendly going out of their way to make you always feel so welcome. All of the rooms are AMAZING! Very spacious. So clean! And extremely comfortable. With a BATH!! It's quiet. Relaxing. And I very much enjoy my stay, each and every time I am here.
