Mantra Coolangatta Beach

I stayed at Mantra Coolangatta in sept this year for 3 weeks. Firstly great location lovely room with beautiful view.. but the service was well below standard for this type of property. From constantly calling for room refresh and replenish stocks to the pool still having algae after I raised it with staff a number of times. I ended up getting a skin rash after swimming in their pool. Overall staff just didn't give a damn and it was obvious the management didn't either. They were quick to take my money and did not care about customers after that. Hotel management should walk around the property every day to make sure staff are doing their job properly instead of standing at receptions laughing and kidding around with staff. Very disapplinting for such a long stay should have left after the first week. Trish Melb.

Had a lovely three night stay at Mantra with my wife and 2 year old daughter. Had booked a 1 bedroom, and was upgraded to a 2 bedroom with a great view on arrival. The staff had provided a travel cot and were very welcoming. Room had everything, including comfy beds. Only a 5 minute drive from the airport and set right on the beach, close to everything including the surf clubs, we were able to survive without a pram which was great. Looking forward to visiting for another winter trip.

The location of this hotel is great and very central to everything, we have stated here a couple of times now. Rooms are clean and have everything you need, each room may have different decor, some of the furniture can be a little old and tired. Amazing views of the ocean. Would recommend, our stay is always comfortable.

Will never stay here again!! Manager was so rude, they sent me receipts saying it was paid in full only to then tell me just days before we are meant to check-in that it's a known glitch with their system and I still owed them $1252, which I didn't have. I had to borrow from family and friends, which they knew as I told them this several times.... Then I go to check-in and they tell me I need another $200 as a bond / holding depost (this information is absolutely NOT noted anywhere on any communication I received, inculding my booking confirmation). Which I also didn't have!! They did absolutely nothing to try and assist, they had me and my 2 young children in tears in the lobby as this was a surprise present for my partner and I had Family and friends coming from interstate too!!! They didn't care or even try to do anything to work it out with me, all the manager wanted to do was refund me the price I paid for the room!! Not to mention they said I could have an early check-in (12pm) to be able to setup for my partners surprise birthday and at the normal check-in time of 2pm my room STILL wasn't ready!!! WiFi was so bad that we had zero bars in our room and had to resort to just using our phones hotspot for the kids to be able to use their iPads!! Bed was the worst bed I've ever slept on, sleeping on concrete would have been softer!! Both my partner and I went home with aching bodies all over from the rock hard mattress!! Pool was so cold it was like they added ice to it!! We had a lovely hot day and yet my kids lips were blue within minutes of being in the pool and wanted to go to the beach instead as it was warmer! And the spa wasn't working for most of the time we were there. Car park stank like sewage and stagnant water. Overall it was a horrible experience and I'll never ever be booking with this place again!!

Had a great stay at the Mantra Cooly beach. The location is perfect with the beach across the road, restaurants, shops and bars within 50 metres. The staff and the service they provide are fantastic. The apartment I stayed in is on the ground floor, very well furnished with beach and garden views and immediate access to the gym, pool and a huge private and kids safe courtyard. Loved that I never had to wait for the lift. Well done Team Mantra and thank you for your hospitality.
