    This is our families view on our recent visit and holiday stay at the Mantra Coolangatta Beach, which wasn’t pleasant at all. This was our families yearly vacation and we arrived really excited about enjoying some family downtime. The location is really amazing, it’s central to everything in Coolangatta. The reception staff upon arrival were excellent at check in, but this is where our experience this the staff took a bit of a left hand turn, as they lacked really basic and simply communication and customer service skills. We paid a premium price for our room and boy was it a real disappointment, upon entering the room the list of issues mounted up, it was dirty, there was crayon on the walls in the second bedroom, the walls were dirty, the second bedroom had no draws and a broken shelf in the cupboard, the room had a funky smell and the carpet was well worn. The bathroom for this room which housed a washing machine and dryer was full of dust and grim. The bed in the second bedroom were hard, small and well worn. The room (Apartment) it was overall very tired. In the main bedroom we were confronted by broken draws, a bed that was very old and extremely uncomfortable, it sunk into the middle and it wasn’t pleasant to sleep on. The bathroom again wasn’t clean with a funky smell also, when arriving to a place you kinda expect things to be maintained and well presented, sadly this wasn’t the case at all, besides the room on arrival not being as clean as one would have expected, we were also confronted with broken glass on the patio deck as well old dusty and perishing chairs on the patio, the screen doors , glass sliding doors and windows and window sills were all dirty, and there was a presence of fruit flies and insects that were everywhere. The tvs were the size of a computer monitor and the lack of operating wifi and reliable internet access makes it impossible to want to stay ever again. Add to this that on no less than 3 separate occasions either myself or my wife approached hotel reception about our room and our concerns, with zero action being taken other than the glass on the patio being cleaned up. Our stay also included at day without any operational hot water, at about 8am after a morning walk, I returned to shower only to be greeted with cold water, I cleaned up myself and went to reception, I was greeted by the manger who had know idea about this and kinda acted like I didn’t know what I was on about. As my wife and kids were trying to shower also as we had a day planned out and needed to leave the manager who at this point was in our room said he needed to check the showers and not the sinks, so he asked me to come get him once the shower was free. I did this, only to be greeted with a response, of I’m to busy for you, I’ve got bigger things to concern me than your shower, which in the time it was received wasn’t the best form of customer service. At 3:30pm still without any running hot water, I returned to the reception only to be told in a arrogant attitude that the manager is to busy on the phone to speak to me, also the lady in front of me also got the same level of aggressive attitude when she questioned as to why she didn’t have hot water. When I asked about if we might be offered some kind of support or further assistance the receptionist reached into a draw and pulled out the managers business card and tossed it at me and said he’s to busy to speak with the guests so email him. I’m not sure how some people deal with guests or customers, but I’ve always been taught that you explain things, you look after them within reasonable boundaries and they become customers for life. The lack of communication, lack of detail to cleanliness and the cost of staying in an apartment/room that is well beyond a need of updating and no care or attention to the requests of the guests just seems silly and why we won’t ever return.

    Just checked in yesterday - the paint is peeling, the carpets are shabby and the decore is in dire need of an upgrade. There are no hand towels, coffee machines or any sort of colour. If hubby hadn't booked for 3 days I'd cancel and go somewhere else.

    Mantra Coolangatta was the perfect spot for our family holiday. Amazing location with picturesque sea views. Our room was well kept and had plenty of room for our family of 4. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a coastal getaway. Thanks Mantra Cooley!

    Got put on the bottom floor with a carpark view and a room that was easy to break into from the street with a broken door. It cost the same as a regular room and there was no way to know what floor they were putting you on when you book. Given their entire branding and costing is around ocean views this was a huge disappointment. Also very rude staff. It was a complete waste of money.
